Poetry into Melody is an independent artistic project exploring what happens when poetry enters a new time, a new voice and a new musical form.
The project begins with the poetry of Nedrettin Şen—words written decades ago and heard again through contemporary recordings, translations and visual interpretations. The source remains visible; each new interpretation is allowed to find its own language.
The words
came first.
Nedrettin Şen’s poetry is the point of departure. His book YIKINTI, published in 1970, and the wider body of poems, letters, photographs and short films preserved in his digital archive form the creative source behind this project.
Poetry into Melody does not replace that archive. It listens outward from it.

I began Poetry into Melody as a way of hearing my father’s poems again—not by placing them behind glass, but by allowing them to enter new musical lives.
